§ 12. AUTHORITY OF THE VILLAGE BUILDING INSPECTOR.

  • The Building Inspector is hereby authorized and directed to promulgate rules, regulations, standards, and specifications for construction, installation, design, location and arrangement of streets, curbs, street lights, street signs, alleys, utility layouts, utility easements, gates for utility easements, sidewalks, fire hydrants, monuments, criteria for drainage easement requirements, drainage facilities, and crosswalk ways consistent with provisions contained herein, and other ordinances hereafter enacted pertaining to the aforementioned items. This ordinance provides access for the Building Inspector to all subdivision building sites and areas as described on the preliminary and final plats submitted by the subdivider. The Village Building Inspector is empowered to halt construction when violations of this and other ordinances are personally observed. Should a conflict arise which cannot be immediately resolved between the builder and the Building Inspector, the builder may petition the Board of Aldermen for resolution. Such petition shall be conveyed to the Village Secretary within 72 hours.
